Bliss!

Brilliant thread/posts Bert.......just wanted to pop in and show some appreciation for all your effort :D - although I'm unlikely to use any of your tips now as I need a bed and a roof over my head these days (knackered lower back and a whole list of other aches and pains relating to bike crashes!)

Muchas Gracias as Bob would (probably!) say - kind of you to take the trouble.
Happy to share - sorry about your back problems :( seems 1 in 3 in UK has this trouble me inc. with a few added surprises  still, as long as it all sort of works, one must keep the black side down ... unless one has MT21's fitted

where's everybody since......... Thu Sep 25, 2008
over a year and no new tips........
ah well, I''ll add another one
Optimus Nova Plus has replaced my trusty old burner that met with an untimely end when it met my HighLift jack at velocity...
What a muppet  still, I missed my toes!
I replaced it with the Optimus Nova - which I prefer to my now flattened Primus multifuel (as long as you don't need the gas option) in somuch as it does not need the jets changed for different kinds of liquid fuel; one jet does all.
It also has a cleaning needle magnetically operated to clean so no dismantling required.
Efficiency, pretty much the same as the Primus
The construction is better- pump mechanism is all metal (unlike the plastic Primus pump two of which broke on me)
The quick disconnect on the Nova is a joy- clean and quick and no bottle depressurization unlike on the primus, you get squirted with fuel each time :( - that was a down point so lose petrol each time and is a greater fire risk-
The bag it comes in is poorly thought (if at all) of so I put it in the now defunct Primus one that is flexible and contains a zipped pocket for spares.
Packs down smaller- better design as the leg are curved and mould the body of the burner.
It gets my vote for a solid and reliable piece of kit.
